Day 2 of my trip to Walt Disney World began with an early visit to the Magic Kingdom. We got to the park about 30 minutes after opening. The first thing we noticed upon entering was that the park was absolutely slammed with people even though it was only a Wednesday.
It quickly became apparent that it would be difficult to get on different attractions. Sure, we had a Fastpass for Haunted Mansion, but that wasn’t til noon. Instead of powering through long lines, we decided it would be more beneficial to take it easy and grab a bite to eat. We stopped at Sleepy Hallow to grab and Sweet and Spicy Chicken and Waffle Sandwich. I actually had this during my last trip to WDW in 2018, and I thought it was so amazing that I had to try it again. After having it a second thing, I can safely say it is currently my favorite food on the entire property.
After eating we did a quick meet and greet with Mary Poppins. This was actually one of the best character interactions of the whole trip in my opinion, as she stayed perfectly in character and, because there was no line, our interaction with her wasn’t rushed. Once we finished meeting Miss Poppins we headed over to the Swiss Family Treehouse. Usually this attraction doesn’t have any sort of wait (because its a walkthrough), but this day had a huge, slow moving line throughout the whole thing! That should give you a good idea of how busy the park was.
We killed time for about an hour by shopping until our Haunted Mansion fastpass was ready. Even though it shortened our wait significantly, we still had to wait about 30 minutes to get in because of how busy the park was. It was like everyone decided to get a fastpass for the Haunted Mansion!
After Haunted Mansion we had fastpasses for Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. The lines for both rides went by much faster than Haunted Mansion, so that was a plus. Both attractions were also running pretty good, but Space Mountain was a little rougher than I remembered. Hopefully they shut the ride down and put a new track in once Tron opens.
Speaking of Tron, we got a good view of the ride’s construction on the People Mover. Here’s a picture below.
Finally, we ended our night with rides on Small World, Buzz Lightyear, The Little Mermaid, and Winnie The Pooh. We also got a nice viewing of Happily Ever After, the park’s stellar night time spectacular. I will always stand by my belief that HEA is the best thing at Walt Disney World right now. If you need more proof of that, go read Limitless Park contributor Andrew Brandenburg’s review here.
Stay tuned for Day 3 of our trip to Walt Disney World, coming real soon!
