Limitless Park 2019: A Year In Review

2019 is officially coming to a close, and with that I always like to reflect on everything Limitless Park has accomplished throughout the year. Since the site’s inception in 2016, the members and I are constantly looking for new ways to grow our brand. I usually keep the numbers and statistics to myself (quantifying things has never been my favorite pastime), but since we’re coming up on the end of our biggest year yet, I figured it would be cool to reveal them for the first time. This gives us a chance to discuss everything that’s happened this year, where we’re at right now, and what we hope to accomplish in the future.

On a side note, this also happens to be our 100th post on Limitless Park. I’d say that makes this topic even more fitting!

2019 in Numbers

I figured I’d get the viewership statistics out of the way first.

As you can see, 2019 saw Limitless Park’s largest amount of views yet. At the time of writing this (December 19th), the site has 19,702 views from 8,111 visitors. This is compared to 2018’s 13,563 views from 8,124 people. That’s over 6,000 more views from almost the same amount of people, and I definitely expect the 2019 visitor count to surpass the 2018 count by the end of the year. There are obviously much larger theme park websites out there that garner far more views, but I’m still thoroughly impressed that Limitless Park has managed to almost breach 20,000 views in one year. As someone who never thought they could get more than a couple hundred views on a website, it’s simply mind-boggling.

Here’s our views-per-month chart. This also does a good job showing just how spectacular our growth has been, since 8 out of the 12 months saw an increase of viewership. August continued to be our most-viewed month, but this time the amount of views nearly doubled from 3.4K to 6.6K. The site got off to a bit of a rough start in 2019 due to a lack of posting, which resulted in us missing out on some potential views. This is a good thing to keep in mind for next year when deciding how much we should post during the off-season months of January to March.

Member Growth

In 2019 Limitless Park gained four new members, bringing our team’s total to eight. Evan Murray, our second Northeastern correspondent, joined the site in May with his debut review of the 2019 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Next was Josh Pandolph from Pennsylvania, who joined in June with his trip report from Kings Island and Coney Island. Finally, two new Florida members joined: Aidan Brandenburg with his debut review of Kraken at SeaWorld Orlando in October, and Kyle Jackson with his debut review of Kumba at Busch Gardens Tampa in December. It’s been so exciting seeing our team grow, and I can’t wait to see who joins next.

Theme Parks of 2019

We visited so many awesome parks this year. I can’t quite recall everywhere that each member of the team went (it really is a lot), but I can speak to my own 2019 adventures. My theme park season began in early May with a visit to my home park, Six Flags Great America, just a couple days before I set off on a 7 day trip to Walt Disney World. There I got to ride many of my favorite new attractions such as Avatar: Flight of Passage and Slinky Dog Dash. I also stayed at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort for the first time, which was a great experience.

In July I made my first trip out to Valleyfair, a smaller Cedar Fair park in Minnesota. It has easily become one of my favorite theme parks. It’s also home to Renegade, an amazing wooden coaster that also happened to be my 100th roller coaster ever!

Not long after that we had our first Limitless Park group visit to Six Flags Great America. Aidan, Andrew, Sorin, Drake, Brandon and I all had a great time riding the park’s New for 2019 roller coaster, Maxx Force. Less than two weeks later I found myself in France visiting Disneyland Paris Resort, which was my first ever international theme park. It was an experience I will never forget!

Aside from a few more visits to Six Flags Great America, my latest theme park visit was to Kings Island in late September. It was my third time visiting the Ohio park, and my second time seeing it during the Halloween Haunt event. Each time I go back to Kings Island I grow more and more in love with it’s charming atmosphere, and it’s definitely one of my favorite theme parks I’ve ever visited.

The Future

Writing about the future of Limitless Park has always been very difficult for me. There’s so many plans that have fallen through over the years, so it’s often frustratingly hard to pinpoint what will happen next. Also, being a college student doesn’t allow me the infinite amount of time I would like to put into the site, so instead I’m left with whatever spare moments I can gather.

No one said it was going to be easy though. I’ve learned a lot these past 3+ years, and although there’s still a lot for me to learn, I think I’m ready to push Limitless Park into its next phase of development. I want 2020 to be a year filled with exponential growth that we’ve never seen before. I am going to do everything I can to ensure that Limitless Park hits the following goals by the end of 2020:

  • 50,000 views throughout the year from 15,000 visitors
  • 5,000 followers on our Instagram
  • 100 published posts

As long as we put continuous effort into the site throughout the year, I think we will have no issue reaching these goals. Although I’ll be dubbing this movement as our “2020 Expansion”, we’ll actually be kicking things off next week with another trip to Walt Disney World! My brother Brandon and I be heading down to the resort from December 26th to the 31st. We’re super excited to make the trip that will mark the beginning of our biggest year yet!

I hope you all had as wonderful of a 2019 as I did. As always,

Thanks for Reading!
