With the European IAAPA trade show taking place this week, Huss Park Attractions has recently posted videos of their latest ride concepts on their YouTube channel. The company, which is headquartered in Bremen, Germany, focuses on developing and manufacturing amusement attractions for theme parks around the world. They showed off five rides in total, all of which are various flat rides. Let’s dive into all of them and see what these new attractions are all about.
Shot n’ Drop Multimedia – Space Traveller
Huss has taken their Shot n’ Drop attraction already seen at various parks and added another layer of depth to the ride experience. Space Traveller is an immersive drop tower ride encased in a cylinder-shaped tower with 360 degree projections on the walls. The attraction will seat 28 guests and launch them as high as 33 meters. This will create an effect of up to -1.5 G’s, giving riders a feeling of weightlessness at the top.
The big innovation, of course, is the tube-like structure surrounding the drop tower. This will immerse riders in a “high-quality multi sensory multimedia experience,” according to the Huss Park Attractions website. Parks that choose to implement this attraction will be able to customize many facets of the the experience, such as theming, ride cycles, lighting and special effects.

The video shows riders experiencing a “space themed” version of the ride that sends riders up above the earth before plummeting back down. The ride system will be perfectly synchronized with what’s happening on screen, so hopefully that means motion sickness won’t be a terrible issue.
Spinning Cruiser
The Spinning Cruiser is a family thrill attraction in which up to four riders sit in cars that slide and spin around different pathways. The ride is very compact, with it’s footprint taking up about 17 meters in diameter. There are a ton of different controlled ride movements and patterns allowing for plenty of customization. If a park wants the ride to appeal to more intense thrill seekers, they can increase the spinning and chaotic movement. If they want it too appeal to families and younger audiences, they can tone it down as well. In addition to the ride cycle, the theming, lighting and special effects are also customizable to fit the unique identity of each theme park.

Magic 2G
The Magic 2G is another family thrill attraction, this time spinning while arms attached to the cars lift and rotate the passengers in different ways. The original iteration of this ride is very successful, and has been found at many different parks including on top of the Strat Hotel in Las Vegas. Due to this success, Huss has released this successor with an even greater array of movement.
A huge feature of this new version of the ride is the updated gondola cars. These cars boast better accessibility, room, comfort and safety, which are all important in strengthening the appeal of a freeing attraction such as this one.
Troika 2G
Huss is well known for their Troika flat rides, and the Troika 2G takes the already proven concept and makes it even better. In the latest version, Huss has added even more unique patterns to create new experiences with the ride.
Perhaps the greatest change comes in the increased capacity. This version of the attraction has 21 gondolas which can hold a total of 42 passengers per ride. Similarly to the Magic 2G, the gondolas have been updated to be far more accessible and comfortable. There are also plenty of options for lighting and theming customization.

Booster Revolution
The Huss Booster Revolution is the most intense attraction shown off in these videos. Throughout the ride, different gondolas rotate and spin around in a circle while flipping sideways and upside down. It’s a truly disorienting experience. The ride can also spin riders backwards and at tons of different speeds, which is a great customization option to have depending on the age demographic of a theme park.
A common theme between most of these rides is the new gondolas. Huss has also implemented next generation cars on this ride, again boosting the ease of access, safety and comfort of the ride.
Perhaps the most interesting part of Booster Revolution is how the ride operator stands in the middle of the attraction. In the recently posted video, the ride features an aircraft theme and a ride operator standing in a control tower-like building with glass windows along all sides. This can add to the theme of the ride and create a more interesting experience by giving an operator the center of attention instead of the riders.

As IAAPA Europe approaches, more attractions from Huss will likely be featured. To stay up to date on the latest news, be sure to subscribe. We’ll continue to keep an eye on Huss and all other companies in the amusement industry in the coming weeks to see if any other interesting videos like these are released.
