Six Flags Acquires 20th Property, Waterworld California

Earlier today, Six Flags Entertainment Corp. announced that it will be acquiring and operating Waterworld California, a water park in Concord, CA. The park will become the 20th operating property in the Six Flags chain, their 14th water park, and their 6th water park to be located on a property separate from a theme park.

Waterworld is the largest water park in Northern California, and is home to 25 different water slides. It is located about 25 minutes away from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA.

The park opened as Waterworld USA Concord in 1995, and was previously owned by Six Flags from 2004 to 2006. Before the acquisition announcement on April 27th, 2017, Premier Parks LLC owned and operated the water park.

Hopefully Six Flags Ent. Corporation will only benefit from this new addition to their lineup of parks in the many years to come.
