Many can’t wait for Universal to open Epic Universe. While the new park will open in May, guests can still get a taste of it by staying at Stella Nova Resort. This is Universal Orlando’s first “Epic Universe” hotel, in that it is located close to the property. The resort officially opened to the public on January 21, 2025, and features 750 rooms that are available for booking.
The resort is designed by the Universal Creative team and is co-owned and operated by Loews Hotels, which is the case for most of the other Universal Orlando resorts. As the name suggests, Stella Nova Resort is themed to the cosmos, with various references to the final frontier in its amenities and food & beverage locations. For instance, the three dining options at the resort are named Cosmos Cafe and Market, Galaxy Bar and Galaxy Grill. Also, most rooms have windows made to look like part of a space-station.
Stella Nova Resort also features a large pool for guests, as well as a splash pad nearby. More amenities include the Universal Studios Store gift shop, a fitness center, game room and fire pit. There is also a large lobby for visitors to sit and relax.
This hotel is the first phase in a two-building property. Universal Terra Luna Resort, the second hotel in the area, is scheduled to open on February 25, 2025. It will also feature a space theme and amenities that compliment Stella Nova Resort.
There is also a third resort in development for Epic Universe, that being Universal Helios Grand Hotel. This will be a more upscale resort connected to the Epic Universe theme park through its own dedicated entrance. Similar to Stella Nova and Terra Luna, it will have an interstellar connection. It will blend particularly well with the astronomical themes of Celestial Park, the main entrance and hub of Epic Universe.
Whether guests walk into the park from Helios Grand Hotel, or take the resort-wide transportation from Stella Nova and Terra Luna, they’ll be at an otherwise unfound proximity to Epic Universe when it opens on May 22, 2025. The park, which houses other lands such as Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, will feature over 50 destinations like attractions, entertainment, retail and dining locations.
