For the 2018 season, Darien Lake Amusement Park in Darien Center, NY will be recieving a new roller coaster titled Tantrum.
The coaster will be a “Beyond Vertical Coaster” with a 98 foot vertical lift at a 90 degree angle, and a staggering 97 degree drop. This will be followed by a “pretzel inversion”. The rest of the ride’s layout will feature a bunny hop, Immelman turn, and a tilted loop.
Darien Lake has yet to release an actual rendering of the ride layout. The promotional video features clips from similar coaster models such as Hydrus at Casino Pier and Iron Shark at Galveston Island.
Tantrum will open at Darien Lake in 2018. Stay tuned for more updates on the ride at a later date.
