The Pokémon Company is partnering with Yomiuri Land Co. and the Yomiuri Shimbun to establish a new theme park, PokéPark Kanto, in Tokyo, within Yomiuriland, Tokyo’s largest amusement park. The park aims to provide Pokémon-themed events and attractions in a natural environment, potentially reutilizing the land of the former Pokémon Wonder. The opening date is yet to be announced.
Disney has shared new details about Lookout Cay, the upcoming retreat in The Bahamas, set to open in Summer 2024. The island will feature various locations like Mabrika Cove, the Goombay Cultural Center, Triton’s Trumpet Stage, Treasures of Eleuthera, and an adults-only area called Serenity Bay.
Disney’s “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” has become a decades-long tradition for many fans, first initiated in 1983. Noteworthy for its Christmas-themed attractions and delectable holiday treats, the event provides an extended festive experience. For 2023, Disney recently released a food guide detailing an array of delicacies. From a Candy Cane Tart at Casey’s Corner to peculiar desserts like the Santa’s Belt Buckle at the Sunshine Tree Terrace, the offerings present time-honored Christmas flavors and creative innovations.
Theme park enthusiast Andrew Krivsky shares his updated rankings of roller coasters at Six Flags Great America. The massive Maxx Force, known for its incredible acceleration, is now his top pick. Other highlights include the classic wooden coaster Viper, the gravity-defying Batman: The Ride, and Goliath which, despite a substantial conventional appeal, is losing its charm. Less preferred are American Eagle, suffering from increasing roughness, and Dark Knight, critiqued for its ‘by-the-numbers’ nature. Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will debut its new Frozen-themed land, “World of Frozen”, on November 20th. Notable attractions include two distinct areas: Arendelle Forest and Village, a detailed map out of the Frozen movies, a more fleshed-out Frozen Ever After boat ride, and a unique stage show. Despite criticisms in areas like Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs ride, lack of character interactions, and lackluster shops, the resort benefits from enticing food options and the overall Frozen theme.
Busch Gardens Tampa is introducing a family suspended roller coaster, Phoenix Rising, in 2024. This roller coaster will be the fourth made by B&M and the 10th in the park. It enhances the existing Serengeti Plain theme and will feature on-board audio for an immersive experience. Despite its short length of 1,831 feet and top speed of 41 mph, the park expects it to appeal to young audiences and families.
